about

"Take Flight" is a song about growing up, and how friendships evolve and change as we transition into adulthood. Though somber and painfully real, "Take Flight" is uplifting in the sense that no matter how far away, some friendships will always last.

lyrics

Skin burns in the early summer sun
This burn feels different, I'm afraid the time has won
I know this is the last time, we'll be together for a little while
Fake the smile
We've grown, so well
From the nights we drowned ourselves
We may have found ourselves
Take flight, spread those wings
I'm gonna miss you like hell

Break through
Take it all
I'll be cheering you on through it all
No matter how far gone
No matter how far gone

Voices scream in the dead of winter's night
It's been a couple years but the memories' still bright
I know those times we laughed so hard will be with me all my life
As you take flight
We've grown, so well
From the times we sat and hoped
And drank and smoked and moped
Those boundless days and nights are gone
And we've been freed
Can you believe

Break through
Take it all
I'll be cheering you on through it all
No matter how far gone
No matter how far gone
